Blinds 10/20. And nothing happened. It was a really tight game. The highest of
highs was one turn - till last hand in this level. The board showed J/2/6/A. Denis
raised 300, Jorn reraised 1300 and Denis called. On the river: 3, Jorn bet all
in and Denis called. So showdown guys: Denis with J/A vs Jorn’s route 66 (6/6).
What a early out for the French guy! And what a nice double up for the Swiss
guy.
Jorn kept on playing strong, winning a nice hand with a flush against Jurij.
But till blind level 50/100, the game crept on. But finally, we had the next
decision. On the board 9/J/7/7 Juri went all in. And guess who took heart and
called? Jorn with A/J against Jurij’s A/Q. So down the river we go: 10. And
Jorn kicked the next player off the table. Same level Jorn the Hellraiser went on. Gregor called on the small blind but
Jorn raised 600. Gregor reraised 3230 going all in – and of course the Hellraiser called with Q/A in his hand against Gregor’s J/8. In the end on the board we
had 7/9/K/K/2. And the next Player was smashed by Jorn.
Heads Up between Harald (2040) and Jorn (12960) and blinds were at
200/400.The game went back and
forth for a while till finally Jorn called on of Harald’s all ins. Jorn with
A/9 vs Harald’s Q/6. So dealer, show us the flop: 8/J/9. Now the turn: 3. And
the river: K. Congratulations Jorn. What a massive start by Switzerland!
Here they are! Boys, let's go!

Just in time and to pimp your computer desktop, we developed some new desktop wallpapers for you. Adopted by the new PokerIsland logo, two of the wallpapers are just very very very (if not to say VERY) minimalistic! So the "Mirrored" and the "Stencil" wallpapers are just perfect to find your computer icons quickly, while the "darkstyle" certainly might suit those among us that like it dark while playing online poker.
The links beneath this text offer you ZIP files containing several images of each wallpaper offering different sizes to fit your screen resolutions. The old wallpapers from 2008 can still be downloaded from the main navigation through the "PokerIsland 2008" link.
Just in case you haven't seen it yet, you are able to follow us on twitter to stay up to date about what's going on at PokerIsland. Simply visit www.twitter.com/pokerisland for our profile and do not forget to follow us so that we can follow you ;)

We had the first Weekly Final 2009. The players started with 5000 each. 1500 chip upgrade in total. That’s 26 500 chips on the table. So Patrice, Paul and Vilnis started with 5000. Marc 5500 and Pim with 6500.
The sun went down, the tension increased. Blinds started 20/40 and Vilnis started very aggressive in the game. But the others didn’t take part. So far. So he just kept on stealing the blinds. Then finally Pim woke up and played raising pre flop 120 and Vilnis called. The flop showed 9/5/9. Vilnis bet 200 and Pim called. On the turn 6 , Vilnis bet 400 and again, Pim called. This time, on the river 8 Pim raised 1200 and Vilnis took the bate and called with Q/8. But Pim smashed him with his pocket 7 hitting the straight!
Blinds 40/80 and still Vilnis was pushing going all in pre flop. And Patrice time had come calling him with pocket A against Vilnis K/J. Already on the flop 5/A/2 Patrice hit the triple. Turn and river 4/8 didn’t redeem Vilnis. What a early final goodbye for the Latvian youngster. And Patrice kept on playing dizzying aggressive.
After a small BBQ break, the game went on. Now here is an intermediate result: Marc 4170, Paul 6110, Pim 6190 and chipleader Patrice 10030. Meanwhile blinds were 100/200. On the Button, Marc went all in with 4070. Pim called with A/K vs Ad/10d! We got 5/4/6 on the flop. 2 on the turn and finally on the river: K. Marc was kicked from the table!
Next decision didn’t wait long. Pim called the blind, but Patrice raised all in – and Pim now was in real trouble thinking quite a while… in the end, he called! So showdown guys! Patrice with 8/Q and Pim with 10/10 in his hand. The flop showed K/9/2. J on the turn and 7 on the river. The former chipleader Patrice got kicked!
Heads up between Paul (11600) and Pim (14900). Blinds were 150/300 with 17 minutes to go in this level. We had some raise races, saw a few flops. But not more. Till break even after a while. Then Pim raised 750 on the button. Paul called. 6/7/10, both checked the flop. On the turn 9, Paul raised 750 and Pim called. Down the river we go: 6. Paul raised 2000 and Pim called! Paul hit the straight with J/8 in his hand.
Blinds 300/600 and Paul raised 1600 on the small blind. Pim (12000) reraised all in and Paul (14500) called with pocket 6 against Pim’s crabs (3/3). The board showed 10/5/8/8/J and finally we had a winner! Congratulations Paul! See you in July again!
